Disadvantages of the Internet


Despite the advantages of the internet, there are also some disadvantages we cannot forget. Some of these disadvantages are:
- Many technological tools are very expensive;
- A large parcel of people cannot afford those technologies;
- There aren’t programmes enough to teach people in the technological field;
- It can cause some unemployment;
- People become addicted to computers and to internet and they don’t go out to meet people;
- People can feel lonely behind the screen in spite of talking with people using the internet;
- Technologies are always changing and we must make strong efforts to keep ourselves actualised.

Advantages of the Internet


Internet is a powerful tool in our society and we are surrounded by many other tools we use everyday which are related to technology.
From our point of view the main advantages of the Internet are:
- It makes our lives simpler;
- We can search for information everywhere without leaving home;
- We can visit places all over the world surfing the net;
- We can meet and talk to friends using our computer;
- There are several jobs that can be well performed at home, without going to the office (e.g. teleworking and telemedicine);
